Giving up is not an option, so come on up and climb this mountain with me. I’ve shared some on this blog about how the struggle is real. Typically, on Monday mornings I will share a post on my social media for motivation. Monday tends to be, from my perspective #tbi , the toughest day of the week. I feel that if I can approach, apply and finish Monday with zest that it helps set the tone for the rest of the week. I’m finishing writing this blog on a Monday, hopefully it has some zest
One thing I’ve also started doing is keeping a limitless list. This is thanks to reading the latest version of Jim Kwik’s book, which is not-so ironically titled, Limitless. If I could impart some abbreviated knowledge from this book, that I have also adopted since the first version, it would be to read more #tbi My limitless list includes 3 achievable short term (weekly) tasks that I can accomplish despite #tbi Sometimes, all that limits us is our own perception of reality. Making these tasks achievable is paramount with #tbi These achievable tasks are rewarding and fulfilling, as endorphins are released at completion. I’m happy to report that I successfully completed a 5 minute stand without holding on to anything, supervised of course (safety first as Durbs would tell you), which was one of my limitless tasks last week. It may seem kind of silly, but being able to reach that goal of standing independently for 5 minutes certainly released some endorphins
If I could make a straightforward limitless list for my #tbi it would be #1 to walk again #2 to use my left arm functionally #3 get my full speech back. That’s why short term achievable goals are important, because while these are important primary long term goals, those particular goals are still out of reach at the moment. I plan on and am fully committed to reaching these goals, but successfully achieving short term goals will help in securing the primary. I’m challenging myself, as well as anyone reading with #tbi , to break free of limitations and become limitless
There is a long way to go before I defeat #tbi It’s said that this is a lifelong battle. I will face many obstacles along my journey. I may never fully recover from #tbi , but progress is progress and thank you for following my journey.
