Oura Ring

Dave Goto, who is now a good buddy of mine, got me my first Oura ring in the summer of 2021 after a hyperbaric conference I spoke at. This device has been very useful. It monitors sleep for you, so checking it became part of my morning routine. Oura ring provides information such as how long it took you to fall asleep, how many hours you slept for, and how many hours of deep and REM sleep you had. Sleep has been a constant issue since my #tbi, so this information has been very helpful in monitoring my sleep patterns and habits. The Oura ring provides you with a sleep score. My scores initially were very poor. However, thanks to Oura’s information, I steadily improved them over time.

The Oura ring also monitor’s your heart rate variability and blood pressure. It gives you daily reminders for activities to control these levels. If you stick to the plan, closely monitor your activity levels, then the Oura ring can help put these things in balance for you. These are helpful tools for me.

The Oura ring can additionally count steps taken and calories burned. Although this is a very useful tool, it’s not something I take advantage of at this time. It’s due to the fact that I’m actually trying to gain weight, and I’m still confined to my wheelchair. I look forward to the day I can make more use of this tool.

In conclusion, the Oura ring is a fantastic tool for overall health. For myself, it’s optimal in aiding and monitoring sleep, but it has a litany of other tools that could be more helpful to you. Finally, I’d like to give a huge mahalo to Dave Goto. I can’t wait to try my new Oura ring.
